Pupils are assessed at the end of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
The children are assessed in the 17 Early Learning Goals and can achieve either a score of:
- 1 = emerging – below the expected standard for the age
- 2 = reaching the expected for the age
- 3 = exceeding the expected standard for the age
